Scream 4 is a 2011 American slasher movie directed by Wes Craven and it is the fourth sequel in the Scream
series. The story is about Sidney Prescott returning to Woodsboro after ten years to promote her new book. When she arrives, Ghostface started to hunt down students from Woodsboro High, including her younger cousin's friends. So, Sidney, Gale, and Dewey team up once again to stop Ghostface.
I think Scream 4 has an overall improvement compare to its perious series , such as the storyline has become more interesting. The story is totally different to the perious three episodes other than good old fashion
revenge on family business it was more forcus on how teenagers in this generation have influenced by the media. Such as Jill grow up in a single family and she is jealous of Sidney being so famous after surviving the killing of the Ghostface killing incident and the story was made into a movie called stab(Movie within a movie). Jill want to get famous and come up with a plan of becoming Ghostface herself and prentend to be the victim just like Sidney(Final girl) after killing everyone. "This has never been about killing you. It's about... becoming you." So she started to hunt down her classmates/friends with her partner Charlie(the second killer). In here she created a new set of rules of surviving horror films(Her own remake of stab). So her move has become unpredictable and create tension to the audience because they will never know who is going to be the next victim.
I think the actual point of Scream 4 isn’t to scare us. It’s not even to find out who the killer is. The
real point of the movie is to show how technology has changed the way we live, communicate and watch movies. There are references to Twitter, everyone has an iPhone, uses apps, texts, streams video and how movie reboots totally change the rules. "We all live in public now; we're all on the internet."
Also, it bring out the message of everything has a price such as
Jill killing all her friends, even her own mother and betraying her partner Charlie after she has succeed her plan. It show us that friendship, loyalty and family all of them have a price some people are willing to betray their friends or even their family in order to achieve something just like what Jill did in
the film.
